DR. PETER D. DAVIS - Chief Executive Officer
Peter Davis has over twenty five years' experience in drug discovery and development and has held various management positions in both a multinational pharmaceutical company and a mid-size biotechnology company. Dr. Davis joined Angiogene as CEO in 1998 from Celltech, where he headed a Department of Medicinal Chemistry. Previously, he spent eight years at Roche Products U.K. where he worked as a medicinal chemistry team leader from 1982. Dr. Davis holds a B.Sc. (Hons.) in chemistry and a Ph.D. in synthetic organic chemistry, both from the University of Southampton.
DR. GRAEME J. DOUGHERTY - Chief Scientific Offcier
Graeme Dougherty holds an Honours degree in Bacteriology and a Ph.D. in Tumour Immunology from the University of Edinburgh. Following graduation, he worked as a scientist at the Imperial Cancer Research Fund in London, England and in 1986 moved to Vancouver, Canada to join the Terry Fox Laboratory at the British Columbia Cancer Research Centre. At the time of establishing Angiogene, he was head of the Vascular Biology Group. He has held senior academic appointments in the University of British Columbia and at UCLA and was Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Arizona in Tucson with whom he retains a close association. Dr. Dougherty has sat on numerous scientific advisory committees in both Canada and the U.S.A and is a former Chairman of the National Cancer Institute of Canada (NCIC) Tumour Immunology Panel.
